NJ High School Basketball 2011 – Best of the Best

If you think the mid-Atlantic region is lacking in basketball talent you’ve got another think coming. You may not see any of their games on your direct.tv satellite channels but these high school teams and players are really making waves around New Jersey – keep an eye out for these guys:
Is it any surprise that St. Anthony was named the NJ Boys Basketball team of the year? They’ve got a stellar offense and their recruiting is second to none…they’ll be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.
Coach of the year was a bit of a surprise but there’s no doubt Jeff Lubreski from Plainfield took home the title deservingly. He had a lack of assistant at one point and his players were forced to play far more zone defense than ever before yet he still came out with a winning season.
Michael Gilchrist…the player of the year. St. Patrick’s pride and joy is a dynamo on the court and averaged 20.2 points a game. Oh, all that while waking up at 5am to take two buses and a train to get to school by 8:00.
